Breakthrough Fitness Center
The gym Hilton Head locals have trusted since 1998 β and the website that finally matches it.
The business
Breakthrough has been on Arrow Road since 1998 and has been voted the island's best fitness center twelve years running. Eight certified trainers, a full class schedule, a sauna, a smoothie bar, and the kind of member loyalty you only get from doing the same thing well for a quarter of a century.
The problem
None of that was reaching anyone who hadn't already walked through the door. The questions a prospective member actually asks β what does it cost, is there a contract, when are the classes, who are the trainers, can I cancel β either weren't answered or required a phone call to find out.
For a gym, that's expensive. Someone deciding where to train on a Tuesday evening is not going to call three places. They'll pick whichever site tells them the price.
What I built
A single fast page covering the whole decision, in the order people actually ask:
- Membership priced in the open β day pass, monthly, annual. No "call for pricing."
- The class schedule with real instructor names, so it reads as a community rather than a timetable.
- All eight trainers with their actual specialties, because personal training is bought from a person, not a gym.
- Amenities laid out plainly β equipment, sauna, classes, smoothie bar.
- An FAQ that answers the awkward questions β contracts, cancellation, how payment works β before anyone has to ask.
- Contact, hours and a map, with a tappable phone number on every screen size.
No page builder, no plugins, nothing loaded that the page doesn't need. Deployed on Netlify with security headers, a sitemap, structured data and Search Console submitted at launch.
The handover
The domain is registered to Breakthrough and they own it outright. Hosting sits in my account, which keeps their life simple, and transfers to them free whenever they ask. All of that is in writing, signed, because access sitting quietly with the wrong party is the single most common way small businesses get stuck with a site they can't move.
They're on a monthly maintenance agreement β hours, class schedule, trainer changes, pricing, seasonal notices β with a two-business-day turnaround.
A note on numbers. I'd rather show you a real before-and-after than a made-up one, and the measurements from the old site weren't captured before it came down. Ask me on a call and I'll walk you through the current site's speed and mobile scores live, in front of you.
Send me your website. I'll tell you what's wrong with it.
Free, no call required. A three-minute video within 24 hours: what's slow, what breaks on a phone, where you're invisible on Google, and the three things I'd fix first.
