Web design on Hilton Head Island.
Fast, lightweight websites for island businesses that live or die on being found by someone who arrived on Tuesday and is deciding on Wednesday.
Hilton Head is two markets wearing one zip code
Half your customers live here. They know the island, they have a regular hairdresser, and they found their roofer through a neighbour in their plantation. The other half arrived on Saturday, are staying in Sea Pines or Palmetto Dunes for a week, and will make a $900 decision about a fishing charter on a phone in a rental kitchen at nine at night.
Those two customers behave nothing alike, and most island websites are built for neither. The visitor needs price, availability and a booking path inside about forty seconds. The local needs to recognise you β the years in business, the name they've heard, the photo of the shop on Arrow Road or the boat at Shelter Cove.
A site that does both is not complicated. It just has to have been thought about.
What actually matters here
Mobile speed, seriously. Visitor traffic on this island is overwhelmingly phone traffic, often on saturated cell towers in July, sometimes on rental-house wifi that four other people are streaming on. A site that takes six seconds to load has already lost. Everything I build is stripped back specifically so it doesn't.
Seasonality built into the page. Hilton Head businesses have a season and an off-season and the website usually pretends otherwise. Hours change. Services pause. A charter runs a different trip in November than in June. On a care plan those changes take a text message, which means they actually happen instead of sitting on a to-do list until April.
Your Google listing, which visitors see before your website. Someone searching "dolphin tour hilton head" on their phone gets a map with three businesses on it. If you're not in that map pack, your website's quality is irrelevant β nobody reached it. Review count and recency drive that pack more than anything else, which is why every build here includes proper Google Business Profile setup.
Businesses I build for on the island
Charter captains and outdoor guides β inshore, offshore, dolphin, kayak, shelling. Booking is the entire funnel and the existing sites in this space are, with a few honourable exceptions, a decade old.
Studios, salons and fitness β where a working booking link is the difference between a full week and a half-full one. Breakthrough Fitness on Arrow Road is a good example of the shape: the full breakdown is here.
Restaurants, boutiques and services in Coligny, Shelter Cove and the plantations, where the whole job is looking open, findable and worth the drive.
What it costs, and how it works
A single-page island business site is the Foundation package at $2,400, live in fourteen days with the date in the contract. A business with real seasonal complexity β multiple trip types, a booking flow, separate pages for the towns you also serve β is usually Growth at $4,800.
Every build comes with a care plan from $149 a month, which is what keeps the hours right, the seasonal notices current and the site as fast in year three as on launch day.
I'm based on the island and I work by phone and email β no in-person meetings, which keeps overhead down and your price with it. Call or text (843) 816-2004 and you'll usually get me the same day.
Send me your website. I'll tell you what's wrong with it.
Free, no call required. A three-minute video within 24 hours: what's slow, what breaks on a phone, where you're invisible on Google, and the three things I'd fix first.
